Why I'm Betting My Business on "Dead" Technology
Hey Reader!
Something's been keeping me up at night as I build altbound...
Everyone's saying outbound is dead. And looking at the data, they might have a point:
• Gmail just killed open tracking
• Microsoft inboxes are harder to reach than ever
• Google's rolling out Gemini AI for spam filtering
• 17% of emails never even reach the inbox
Most founders would pivot away from outbound right now.
But here's why I'm doubling down instead:
The Death of Spray-and-Pray
Remember those "Hi {first_name}" emails that somehow made it through? They're gone. Good riddance.
What we're doing instead: Building AI-powered systems to identify prospects who actually NEED our solution. Quality over quantity isn't just a motto - it's survival.
The Automation Paradox
Here's something counterintuitive I've learned: As automation gets better, personalization becomes MORE important, not less.
We're using AI to personalize at scale, but in a way that feels genuine. Because it is - we're reaching out to people we can genuinely help.
Behind Our Numbers
Last week, we hit 95% inbox placement rates with Microsoft. How?
Rigorous lead qualification (I'll share our exact process very soon)
Multi-channel approach combining email + LinkedIn
Advanced warmup protocols (using Instantly.ai)
The Reality Check:
Building an outbound agency when everyone's declaring outbound "dead" feels scary. Some days, I wonder if I'm crazy.
But I keep coming back to this: Markets tend to overcorrect. When everyone runs from something, opportunities emerge.
What I'm Working On This Week:
Testing new AI-powered personalization approaches
Building our first case studies
Optimizing our warmup process
Question for you: What's your experience with outbound lately? Hit reply or comment below - I read and respond to every message.
Until next time,
Alex
P.S. If you know someone struggling with outbound campaigns, feel free to forward this their way. We're all in this together.
